ACL Injury Prevention
Preventing unnecessary injuries is an important part of the Safe Sports mission. In order to help minimize the risks of injury associated with athletic activity we are proactive in developing and implementing programs which help prevent athletic injury.
Safe Sports Network athletic trainers utilize the PEP program (Prevent Injury and Enhance Performance) developed by the Santa Monica Sports Medicine Foundation. This program consists of a warm-up, stretching, strengthening, plyometrics, and sport specific agilities to address potential deficits in the strength and coordination of the stabilizing muscles around the knee.
